- Treatment of scabies Indicated for adults and children over 2 months of age to eliminate scabies mites and relieve itching.
- Treatment of crab lice Effective in adults for eradicating crab lice (pubic lice) infestations.
Precautions of Permethrin Cream
Precaution while taking Permethrin Cream
- Hypersensitivity caution Treatment should only be given if strictly indicated in patients with known hypersensitivity.
- Avoid eyes & mucous membranes Care must be taken to prevent the cream from entering the eyes, nasopharyngeal space, genital area, or open wounds.
- Use in infants Limited experience in children aged 2–23 months; treatment should only be given under close medical supervision.
- Environmental hazard Percon Cream is harmful to insects and aquatic life (fish, daphnia, algae). Contamination of aquaria and terraria must be avoided.
Dosages administration of Permethrin Cream
For cutaneous use only. The medicinal product must not be swallowed.
Carefully apply a thin layer of cream to the skin (cutaneous use).
Side effects of Permethrin Cream
Common Side Effects of Permethrin Cream
- Skin discomfort Burning, stinging, or tingling sensations may occur shortly after application, especially in patients with severe scabies. Usually mild and transient.
- Irritation signs Transient erythema, oedema, eczema, rash, and pruritus may appear after treatment. These are generally considered part of the natural course of scabies.
- Persistent itching Itching may continue for up to 4 weeks post‑treatment. This is typically due to allergic reaction to dead mites under the skin and is not necessarily a sign of treatment failure.
