The client had relationships with hospital procurement departments across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, but no manufacturing partner who could supply WHO-GMP–certified generics with the regulatory documentation required by each country’s medicines authority. Previous suppliers took 9–12 months to deliver a single dossier and could not guarantee consistent batch quality.
What Conical did
Conical proposed a portfolio of 14 antibiotic SKUs — tablets, capsules, and granules — drawn from its existing approved product range. Because the products were already manufactured and certified, the client received complete regulatory packages (COA, COPP, FSC, and GMP certificates) within three weeks of signing. Conical’s in-house regulatory team then guided local registration submissions in all three target markets simultaneously.
Result
The first products cleared registration and entered hospital supply chains in Kenya within 6 months. Tanzania and Uganda followed within the same year. The distributor placed repeat orders three times within the first 18 months, scaling volume by 240% from the initial purchase order.
