Precautions While Using Albendazole Tablets 400 mg (Especially for Long-Term, High-Dose Treatments)

1. Liver Health

  • Severe hepatitis can occur—regular liver tests are important (before and every 2 weeks during treatment).
  • Stop if liver enzymes double; restart only after levels normalize.
  • Watch out for possible allergic relapses.

2. Blood Cell Monitoring

  • Risk of medullary depression (low blood cells like pancytopenia, agranulocytosis).
  • Regular blood tests are required—especially for patients with liver disease.
  • Stop treatment if blood count drops significantly.

3. Trichinosis Treatment

  • Limited data for kids under 6.
  • Works best if taken early in the infection; doesn’t help in late/chronic cases (encysted larvae).

4. Contraception Warning

  • Can harm pregnancy (teratogenic effects).
  • Must use reliable contraception during treatment.
  • Doctors should explain risks clearly before starting therapy.

5. Albendazole Tablets 400 mg Ingredients
